Event Intro

Digital transformation is fuelling the adoption of Kubernetes, which is being used across all industries today to help automate the deployment, management, and scaling of containerised applications. Enterprises are choosing Kubernetes and moving to a multi-cloud environment for a variety of reasons such as avoiding vendor lock-in, minimising risk and reducing cost. To meet the exact needs of development teams, multiple clouds are needed.

With this multi-cloud reality, building, operating, and managing a Kubernetes-based container infrastructure has become even more challenging. How can you ensure increased operational efficiency, enhanced infrastructure and workload security, and expedite the move to multi-cloud and hybrid cloud?
This VMware Tanzu Kubernetes event is a 2.5 hour hands-on-workshop focused on demonstrating the value of standardising on a Kubernetes platform to manage, monitor, and secure your containers across any cloud and any cluster.

Pre-requisites: The workshop will utilise VMware Cloud Services (via Customer Connect) and VMware Pathfinder. Before joining the workshop, please follow the below instructions to create a VMware Cloud Services account if you do not have one already. You must use the same email address for your VMware Cloud Services account when logging into VMware Pathfinder to gain access to the workshop.
  1. Sign up for a VMware Customer Connect account through this link. Make sure to follow the prompts to verify your account and complete the registration.
  2. Log in to VMware Pathfinder with the email address used for your VMware Customer Connect account through this link. Use the ‘LOGIN USING MY VMWARE / CSP’ button to login.

Stefan Stefan Schmidt, Senior Solution Engineer, Tanzu, VMware

Stefan "Steve" Schmidt is based in Switzerland and part of VMware Team Tanzu. He spent the last decade of his journey in IT with projects based on OpenSource cloud technologies for financial services, telco and pharma customers. In 2019 he joined Pivotal, as his focal point moved more and more towards microservice architectures, cloud native applications and the enabling methodologies. He is using his fascination for technology, his curiosity, empathy and active listening skills to navigate his customers towards their goals.
Sacha.jpeg Christian Schausberger, Senior Solution Engineer, VMware

Christian Schausberger is based in Austria and part of the VMware Solution Engineering Team. The first half of his 15-year tenure in the industry, Christian focused on solving problems for the media sector based on Linux and the wider Open Source catalog with a focus on monitoring. He also gained experience in the field of High Performance Computing. Later in Presales he focused on datacenter technologies like Enterprise Storage and Compute with a specific interest on VMware and SAP HANA Solutions. He joined VMware two years ago and has been an advocate for the Tanzu solution stack ever since.

Code of conduct

Unacceptable behaviour

Unacceptable behaviour may include, but is not limited to, the following:

  1. Harassment and discrimination, which includes: any verbal, physical, or visual conduct based on sex, sexual orientation, gender expression or identity, transgender status, race, age, national origin, disability, or other protected characteristics; inappropriate use of nudity and/or sexual images in public spaces (including presentation slides); deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following; harassing photography or recording; sustained disruption of sessions, talks, or other events; and inappropriate physical contact, or any unwelcome sexual attention.
  2. Using any boisterous, lewd, or offensive behaviour or language; using sexually explicit or offensive language or conduct; using profanity, obscene gestures, or racial, religious, homophobic, transphobic, or ethnic slurs; commenting about a person’s body or sexual activity; and discussing sexual activity.
  3. Failing to obey any of the rules or regulations of the event or instructions of the event staff.
  4. Participating in any other illegal activity not already covered above.

Consequences of unacceptable behaviour

We won’t tolerate unacceptable behaviour. If a participant engages in unacceptable behaviour, the event organisers may take any action they deem appropriate, up to and including expulsion from the event without warning or refund and, if appropriate, involving local law enforcement. Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behaviour is expected to comply immediately.
